Pollen sprayer (Fruits-powder) use example in 2016

Mr. T.M from Hirakawa, AomoriPrefecture(Apple4.5hectares)

Up to now, 10 workers have used the 10 ostrich feather devices for artificial pollination, however, working-hour and labor cost was cut after using pollen sprayer (Fruits-powder).

The growth of apple has been healthy, and quality of the fruit has become high. Fatigue of workers has been decreased due to the collection of pollen used in this and next year. Also, Mr. Miura’s Fuji single orchard (1hectare) in Kurokawa examined pollen sprayer as a test packaging of at the apple-testing ground in Aomori Prefecture.

There was only rice paddy around the packaging, no apple farms. As the result of artificially pollinating by pollen sprayer without using chlacid, harvesting rate risen by 110% compared to last year.

T.N from Itayanagi, Aomoriprefecture (5 hectares of apples)

As the result of using pollen sprayer when half-bloomed, and using once more when full-bloomed, results of fruiting were better and could get into next work earlier than other farms. We used the ostrich feather device every year to artificially pollinate; however, we are satisfied a lot of the aspect of fruit shape labor and personnel expense.

We usually did pollination using chlacid, however, as the result of using pollen sprayer, there were few deformed fruits.  Also, the proportion of fruit setting of medium and late-ripening species is high, and we are satisfied a lot with the work because of comfortable and easy way.

We usually did pollination using chlacid, and there were a lot of deformed fruits that made quality low.

I recognized the importance of artificial pollination again.

I used pollen sprayer half in doubt, and with few deformed fruits, it was quite satisfying.

Apple

In Tsugaru, Aomori prefecture, air was dry at apple blooming period and wind was strong, and so one who artificially pollinates using the cottons was band one who used pollen sprayer(Fruits-powder) reported that growth of disc florets had not occurred. One of them, who used pollen sprayer guessing period when apistilis wet usually in early morning or late evening, had well-growth.

Pear

Mr. S in Jiaocho, Miyagi prefecture prepared the comparison target packaging to have a verification test using artificial pollinator and pollen sprayer(Fruits-powder), and even growth status is lower than the last year because of frost damage, both had similar growth results.

Moreover, one in Jiaocho who did not have frost damage had used pollen sprayer(Fruits-powder) since 5 pm when full blooming was close and had no difference with neighborhood farmhouse who artificially pollinated using the cotton swab.

He was satisfied with short work hour even with the same result.

Pear farm in Fukuokaprefecture had a similar good result.

Peach

Peach farm in Fukuokaprefecture is satisfied thanks to a better result than thought.

They are satisfied with short work hour.

Plum

Mr. O in Fukuoka prefecture had used artificial pollinating device up to last year but used pollen sprayer(Fruits-powder) only this year.

A similar blooming result with last year and good quality satisfied him.

The period when quick pollinating occur after the application is noon(9 am to 2 pm is considered best).

Weather controls artificial pollinating result, but for pollination, a pistil is found to be wet.

Finally

In Tsugaru, Aomoriprefecture, air was dry at apple blooming period and wind was strong, and so one who artificially pollinates using the cotton swab and one who used pollen sprayer(Fruits-powder) reported that growth of disc florets had not occurred. One of them, who used pollen sprayer guessing period when a pistil is wet usually in early morning or late evening, had well-growth. Air in the afternoon is dry that who spread only water over the plants using speed sprayer and used pollen sprayer after that had good results. So it needs to be used adjusting weather, the status of fruit, and period.

Some asked about real data but answered by their own feeling compared to last year or normal year after usage. Think it as a similar principle with another artificial pollination device. Natural pollination or using flower-visiting insect is possible, but by spreading pollens, it would have a better effect.
